Celebrities often have ample time to get ripped in such a quick time too. And yeah as you said most are over rated if not made up by someone on the internet. A great workout I found is the abercrombie workout which you can view here:

Jason Statham has always been in amazing shape because he's a martial artist and started his acting career by way of being a stuntman. Actors that were in good shape to start with are the ones to keep an eye on. People like Gerard Butler (300) who blow up with rippling muscle then get flabby, then do it all over again are really harming themselves. He used to be really lean and cut up when he was in Reign of Fire now he's getting a bit podgy, but that will change when he's in his next action role.

Why the heck would you want to inject yourself if you're just a regular guy trying to get fit. Yeah, celebrities may do it, or work out 6 hours a day for a role, but it's not necessary for the rest of us.

Celebrity workouts (without HGH) are impressive because they usually include before and after pics, so it's motivating to know that if I put in the work, I can get the results. It just helps crystallize the goal, which helps with motivation.

You should probably write about the workout the guys used in the movie '300'. Pretty robust physiques. I'm sure they trained forever, but still...

Interesting post Rusty! Can definitely see that many celebrities would have to take something, as more of security for their careers.

I mean what happens if Wolverine looks a little bloated before a shoot cuz he ate bad the night before?

Supplements, like HGH, can make sure that doesn't happen.

A healthy diet and good exercise is the best way to live your life. All of these shortcuts for your body can't be good. I think celebrities and "rolemodels" for younger generations should do more than just look good on the outside.

A good complete fitness program like P90X, Turbo Fire or insanity can get you there. But i comes down to self motivation and dedication. Ican't happen overnight.

I would not feel comfortable using HGH. It took me some time before I felt comfortable even using supplements. It is so wide spread and will come with consequences. Thanks

As a celeb, it is really their job to shape their bodies which ever way they want. The same is true for pro athletes where they have the time to do it every day as compared to working folks like you and me.

Celebrities and Hollywood types are different than you and me. They can afford personal trainers, specialized meal services, and have the incentive of having a body they need to maintain...to keep the dollars flowing.

Personally, no celebrity routine is better than other. It all boils down to good eating, a good workout schedule, and making healthy living a lifestyle.

Rusty,
I agree that sly doesn't look very healthy, his face is abnormally red all the time, which is what you said happens when your body gets flooded by HGH after a hard HIIT training session or strength session. I saw Ryan Reynolds' preparation for his role in Blade and although he did seem to get pretty toned and cut up in a short amount of time, which is absolutely possible given it was his entire occupation for that time and the resources he had that weren't unnatural, he didn't look very sharp in his torso, even though he was lean. One guy i would like to emulate is Jason Statham since he has the sharp dense look and from what i know eats extremely healthy on a normal basis, as well as some martial artists/stuntmen like Tony Jaa. i think these guys get to where they are by performing more movements instead of lifts and by focusing on more "functional" strength training, just my take.

MGF is the latest wonder drug to make the rounds of Hollywood's health clubs

Very effective when combined with GH and a training program heavy on negatives & resistance stretching....and it's all natural?

Hi Cindy,
I do Rusty's low rep training of 5 sets of 5 reps per exercise. I do this 3x per week. I pick one exercise each for back, chest, shoulders, legs (yes I prefer to include legs), biceps and triceps. For example pull ups, bench press, shoulder press, squats, barbell curl and triceps extension dumbbell. Next time I may do barbell rows, incline dumbbell press, upright row, dead lifts, incline dumbbell curl and push downs. After that I do 10 min HIIT meaning 30 sec. running all out, 1 min walking, repeat 6 times. I follow up with 30 min walking right now to lean out quicker. HTH, Monica

Hey rusty I'm 6 1 177 I just got the leanest ever been 7% but I feel kinda small because I of my have a 39 inch chest. I was thinking of bulking for 8 to 10 weeks to gain some more muscle so when I get leaner I'll be more defined what's your take on this?

Rusty,

Thanks for the response; I'm looking forward to your article because the research I've found states no conflict: trained athletes and the elderly get zilch out of it.

My first question to these people who "magically" make changes with HGH is: what else are you taking? The biggest of the big steroid users don't just take HGH. There was an article in GQ about one of these sorts of "anti-aging" clinics and neither of the doctors were just on HGH. The testosterone they were using was the reason for how ripped and muscled they were in their early 60's, imo.

Best,
Skyler

-Monica or Rusty

Can you please go into detail what you mean by "heavy/low rep weight training" for a female. Like maybe Monica you can give me an example of the exercises you do for upper body and the weight that you use.

I'm also wondering if exercises such as tricep dips and push ups are any better for getting lean and toned.

I agree with you. Maybe a good idea for a post would be: the negative sequelae of the various injectables - I am not sure that everyone trying these things is aware of the risks. I think that one of the things that has actually held me back is trying a celebrity's workout/diet. When my results would not match their's I would get discouraged and just quit. I feel much better when I just focus on the basics: focused excercise and a clean diet and don't worry about how some one managed to get fit in a ridiculously short time.
