A "Thank You" Letter To All Bodybuilding Dorks!

Dear Bodybuilding Dork,

I just wanted to say "thanks"! I have been working out in the same gym as you for the past 19 years and I've rarely spoken to you. I know you must think I'm a "pretty boy" for doing cardio and NOT doing hardcore things like yelling and dropping weights. Oh well…maybe you will like me better after this "thank you" letter.

Thank You…for wearing clothes from the 80's! No seriously…things like spandex and florescent tops are hard to come by these days…that stuff is vintage!

Thank You…for wearing those really small tank tops. Everyone loves looking at your nipples…that is a wonderful look…only you can pull it off! Also…those benches get "softened" by all the sweat from your back…making it better for everyone in the gym!

Thank You…for being "hardcore"! Everyone knows that you will gain extra muscle if you drop the weights after each set. Those other wussie guys don't know what it is like to lift heavy. If they were as hardcore as you…obviously they would drop the weights also!

Thank You…for yelling and grunting during you sets! Obviously a guy like me isn't "hardcore" yet, so I'm not up to this level. It is nice to see how "real lifting" is done! If I wanted to get "really intense" I would do that as well…too bad I don't know what's up.

Thank You…for using three pieces of equipment at the same time. We all know that your workout is MUCH more important than ours.

Thank You…for posing in the mirror in between sets. Everyone in the gym is just dying to see your freaky muscle mass. We can't get enough of that!

Thank You…for doing your sets right in front of the dumbbell rack. We didn't want to use any of those dumbbells anyway…and if I need to put my dumbbells away, I can wait 5 minutes for you to get done with your shrugs…no worries!

Thank You…for intimidating and scaring away all the normal attractive girls. We wouldn't want attractive women in our gym, that would distract us from reaching our goals. Interesting women have no place in our weight room! Thanks a bunch for that one.

Thank You…for singing and rapping the songs that are playing on your Ipod. We LOVE that…we know that you are just trying to share your music with the world. Everyone loves hardcore hip-hop and heavy metal.

Thank You…for bringing you buddy, who is louder than you! How could two such "hardcore" guys be in the same place at once! We all get love hearing the pep talks…when you scream "It's all you man…it's all you!"

Thank You…for not putting any of your weights away! I now include that as part of my workout…"Three sets of flyes, Four sets of cable rows, Ten sets of putting weights away for big obnoxious idiot"…putting your weights away is good for the forearm muscles and is a great low back exercise when you leave them on the ground…thank again…you rule!

Thank You…for scaring away and intimidating a lot of beginners who just want to get in shape and lose a few pounds. If they can't handle your intensity they don't belong in the gym anyway. Hopefully they read your "Lift Big or Go Home" tank top…then they will get the message!

Thank You…for giving our free weight room that great "prison yard" vibe. All the grunting and trying to look tough…we really enjoy that! I always get a better workout when it feels like a fight could happen at any moment.

Thank You Bodybuilding Dork!

Sincerely,

bodybuilding

Note: I wrote this letter after I witnessed an obnoxious A-hole, intimidate a beginning weight trainer in my gym. I doubt if this beginner will come back to workout. I let the obnoxious mongoloid know that he was an idiot and almost got into a fight.

I'm really sick of obnoxious bodybuilding A-holes making the gym such an unwelcome place for both beginners and women. Part of the mission of my blog is to call these guys out and let them know they are pretty much repulsive to every normal human being…and especially to women.

Please don't let these losers ruin our gyms! I would love it, if I could get a bunch of readers to take a stand against these guys. If you see bad behavior, point it out in a nice way. If they don't correct it, see if your gym manager will kick them out. Don't be stupid like me and insult "roided out" freaks on a regular basis…I'm sure I'm going to get my butt kicked one of these days…LOL!

It's so typical..The same thing goes here in Hungary you can find these guys in almost every gym, especially in the "hardcore" gyms.
I'm pretty convinced we have even more of these jerks here.
They act EXACTLY the way you have pointed out in your post, so typical.
Too bad that most young guys who start working out see them and think they should look like them if they want respect and girls.

That is funny…I bet gyms are the same pretty much in any part of the world!

Hahaha, this is ALL so true & typical. I used to work in a gym as a Master Trainer and all of the above used to burn me..grrr. I remember trying to correct atrocious form on some of these thugs and the response I would get is "If I do it that way I won't be able to lift as much". Wouldn't want to recruit the right muscle group or anything. Geeesh. (:

Yeah man, f*** all those guys who work out seriously. I go to the gym to socialize, why can't they do the same? They actually get results. That's so annoying and makes me so jealous. They should stay at home and work out there!

Jacked Fibras said:

Why do they have all of those heavy weights anyway? I mean, 45lbs plates! Someone could get hurt! The highest plate should be no more than 10lbs. Maybe all those big brutes wouldn't make so much noise if the weights weren't that heavy.

Also, I agree with Serious Lifter.
The gym is a place to socialize and sport your newest gym gear.
They should definitely STAY HOME and workout there!

Dear Rusty Moore,

Thank you for stereotyping all bodybuilders, your prejudice is very impressive.

Thank you for not touching any weights that are even remotely heavy. That way they are always free for me to use them. No wonder you don't know why strong men drop heavy weights… you dont use heavy weights. (Hint: It's not to look tough… it's because they're heavy and they just finished working to failure, at which point they can no longer safely lower the weight in a controlled manner and it has to be dropped. I know, complicated stuff eh?)

Thank you for your blog filled with a wealth of misinformation and ignorance. Where else would knowledgeable people get their "here's what not to do" examples if your site didn't exist?

Thank you for socializing in the gym, that way there's more equipment free so I can actually get a work out.

Thank you for not using any of the leg equipment. That way more of it is free for the rest of us who know what we are doing.

Thank you for not yelling or grunting during your sets. Your lack of exertion and effort makes it easier for the rest of us to concentrate on a nice loud grunt at the bottom of that last squat rep. It also makes us look more muscular than we actually are, because while we gain muscle consistently, you come in looking the same every week due to your chronic lack of motivation and effort.

Thanks for making this ridiculously silly thread. Where else would I go for my laughs if this blog didn't exist?

Wow…It looks like bodybuilding.com forum members came over to attack my blog today!

I had to delete most of the comments, because of the sheer amounts of profanity and crude comments. I'm cool if people disagee, but I have to do my best to keep this site clean.

I'm going to leave up the comments from above although I disagree with what is being said.

I do like the way "rusty fan" wrote his post…he slammed me, which is cool and he did it in a clever way…I'm okay wth that.

Ah yes, how dare these meatheads not see that the gym is a place to socialise and meet girls instead they actually have the guts to workout, sweat, and lift some weights. I specifically go to the gym to meet cute babes and when I see people actually working out and grunting it severely decreases my chances of picking up since all the women get scared and run away.

How obnoxious can these people be when there trying with their upmost effort to lift heavy weights and end up grunting. I mean can't you squat your 400lbs quietly? And then they have the courage to wear tank tops to show off their big bulging muscles, how pathetic.

I have been lifting for 19 years and I look toned, not huge like these musclehead freaks. Thats because I don't have the knowledge or dedication to build real muscle, so in order to justify my apparent failure I criticise them and downplay their methods as obnoxious simply because I couldn't get huge like them.

randomality on bodybuilding.com said:

here's my take on things.

Making fun of someone because they like to grow muscles and lift heavy things is just about as pointless as the "hardcore" bodybuilders that make fun of their exact polar opposite. As with anything, I believe that there is a balance to things and if someone wants to go and become a big bodybuilder because it makes him happy, then there should be no problem to that, just like there is no problem for someone who works out that has no desire to build muscle mass. Different people, different goals.

Look, you can do whatever it is that makes you happy and well, but please, don't attack what I do. Personally, I love being a bodybuilder. I never did it to look "hardcore" or get girls. Actually, I have a very beautiful and loving girlfriend that I met in the gym a while back, and I still continue to work out in such a way because a) my job in the navy, and b) because it's fun to push myself to limits that I've never been to before, just like I do with cardio on occasion.

I started bodybuilding initially to lose a lot of fat (100 lbs) and love to keep doing it. I never did it for the girls or anything superficial like that. Even if that were the case, girls' taste in the male physique is so varied that it really comes down to personality anyways.

With that, I'd like to end with I'll leave you in peace if you do the same for me.

Randomality,

Well put…I am a bit humbled by your solid comments. It sounds like you behave well in the gym anyway…so this article was not directed at you.

I'm just trying to give advice to people who want to be fit without getting massive. There seems to be a ton of advice out there for building mass -or- building mass and tone…but nothing for guys and girls who want to look slim and toned.

I'll back off on lumping all bodybuilders together…there are obviously big guys out there that show respect in the gym.

Randomality, you made some great comments. Unfortunately, most of the rest of the comments were doing nothing but proving Rusty's point. And that's a shame because there are a lot of great people involved with bodybuilding. And bodybuilding is truly a great sport, hobby, activity, whatever you want to call it, whether your goal is to bench press 500 pounds or just add some strength to improve yourself for a sport.

If the bodybuilders who came in here wanted to prove Rusty wrong, they sure didn't go about it the right way at all. How about something like this -

Hey Rusty, I gotta say, even though I lift hard and heavy, your post was pretty darn funny. And the reason it's funny is because there really are quite a few people like that involved with bodybuilding.

What I think is unfair is that you were really hammering home the point that ALL bodybuilders are like that and that's just not true. Maybe you could've taken the article from the approach of hey, doesn't it seem like every gym has at least one of these guys? Because there are bodybuilders that are great people. And there are bodybuilders like the one's your slamming (a lot of whom came in here). But they aren't that way because of bodybuilding. They already were that way. They were already obnoxious and rude. Now they just have another forum for their behavior – they gym.

I remember one of the first time's I ever worked out in a gym when I was about 15. There was this huge acne covered idiot in his tiny torn tank and clown pants. I thought the windows were going to break he was grunting and screaming so loud – on cable crossovers, no less. He'd strut around the gym with his arms horizontal to the ground (I guess he lats were just SO big!).

And yet, another bodybuilder, literally about twice my size, came over and spotted me on the bench, gave me some advice about lifting, and also told me 'Hey, bodybuilding's great. Don't be turned off by that idiot. He's in the minority. Unfortunately, it's those idiots that get the most attention and make the rest of us look bad." About 30 years later and I still haven't forgotten that.

I guess I didn't quite make my point like I wanted to.

I'm just sick of obnoxious gym behavior in general. I label guys "Bodybuilding Dorks" when they exhibit this obxious behavior.

There are certainly tons of Bodybuilders who are good representatives of their sport. This post is NOT aimed at them. Didn't mean to offend the wrong people here.

The whole point of this post was to point out obnoxious behavior that is making our gyms unfriendly for new people trying to get in shape.

I have honestly been impressed at how you've responded to the continuous bombardment of criticism you've received for this article. Most people would either just delete all the comments or get upset and start insulting everyone. You've been fairly modest though, and although I don't respect your views on bodybuilding, I do respect your integrity as a person.

TNAFitness said:

And therein lies the truth of the post, as much as bodybuilders don't want to admit it. That type of behavior happens often enough in gyms that anybody that works out regularly can read this post and nod to themselves, 'yep, I know that guy. He's at my gym." And it really sucks for bodybuilders that don't act like that.

Kind of like how almost every gym has that one gym bunny. She's smoking hot, probably has implants and spends an hour on her hair, makeup and outfit before hitting the gym. She doesn't actually break a sweat. She may even wear high heels in the gym. LOL!

And she does her stiff legged deadlifts very slowly and watches her own butt by turning her head and checking it out in the mirror. And hoping everyone else in the gym sees it too.

Come on, you all know what I'm talking about. But that doesn't mean all hot fitness women are like that. In fact, I've gotten a chance to interview a number of them; fitness models that are very well known in the industry and on the whole I've found them to be extremely nice and intelligent on top of it, which is a lot different than how they are usually stereotyped.

But when I read articles or funny lists that relate to what I wrote about the gym bunny, it's still funny because you recognize that behavior.

admin said:

rusty fan,

I'm actually open minded to criticism and I don't get flustered easily. I could have pretended that this outlash never happened…I could have deleted and blocked out 100% of the negative comments (I blocked out 90% of them). I never had to post MAGNATE's reply, etc.

I just wanted my readers to see a different point of view. I liked your comments, because it was in the same vein as my post. It was making fun of the "metrosexual pretty boys" in the gym. I'm certainly closer to that and it was written in a clever way and made me laugh a bit.

I honestly wasn't intending to put down every bodybuilder that is trying to gain mass, but that is how this article was perceived. I was poking fun at the extreme guys who bodybuild and don't show respect for others in the gym, just like you were making fun of the extreme meterosexual guys…the majority of us are somewhere in between.

Rusty

PS: One of the forums that was bashing this article, had a big banner for "Close Range Gun Fighting" at the top of the site. Now I REALLY didn't mean to piss those guys off…LOL!

Have you tried to converse with any of these individuals?
The amount of times I have been approached by one of these"intimidating individuals" and been corrected on poor form or given useful advice is uncountable. Walk into a gym expecting to be scared of them and wow you will be.
Do you know why they look at people funny or even angrily? Half the ones i've talked to are just dissapointed…..dissapointed that half number of people in the gym have great natural potential only to wander round aimlessly or have it so blatantly obvious they have been given bad advice on routine, form, etc.
Yes bodybuilders are "hardcore" that is what happens in a competitive sport…..i don't walk past a batting cage and see a baseball player improving his swing grunting etc and think jezzz that guy really should chill out.
Big muscles shouldn't make anyone more scary…..its like seeing a individual of another race and thinking "oooo watch out he might fight me" everyone deserves respect, next time you enter your gym look around, yeah theres that guy who's smirking at your weight but theres another 5 true bodybuilders thinking about what you could be…….

admin said:

Roscoe,

I'm not intimidated by anyone lifting heavy…and to be honest, I'm not annoyed when I know someone is loud because they are re-racking a heavy weight…or struggling to get that last rep up on a heavy squat, etc. I also realize that if someone is doing a heavy deadlift single, that it is safer for them to quickly drop that weight back down to the ground then it is to lower it slowly.

There certainly or situations where it is tough to be quiet in the gym. I am pointing more at the guys who needlessly drop dumbells, grunt for every rep on a set of 10 on the bench, scream weird crap to themselves to get pumped up, etc.

I have done heavy lifting in the past…because like most younger guys I was all about numbers, how much could I bench, squat, etc. I do know what a really heavy set feels like and I still will lift heavy for short periods of time…never felt the need to drop the dumbbells after a heavy set of incline presses for instance.

Again…not attacking the guys who are reasonable…just pointing out the guys who exhibit unnecessary obnoxious behavior.

I lift heavy for my football and all that there, and while I do kinda get tripped out by people who socialize so much in the gym and dont put up heavy weight (it just doesn't click in my head lol), and what I feel are the high school physiques of some of the guys on here and some of the fashion sense (Akon's clean, but that soccer guy….) this post was damned funny to me. If none of you have experienced it it's true on so many levels. My dad was a bodybuilder and it's pretty amusing to see a 6'4", 290lb man runnin' around with his shorts rolled up to Daisy Duke status to show off the legs, and tying the back of his worn tank top to make it tight around the chest. This article just made me laugh because I have more than first hand experience :-P
And I agree on most of what you're saying because some people are just obnoxious in the gym. 14 year olds grunting and yelling on EZ bar curls with a dime on each side, people sitting on equipment socializing and say they're using it when they lay down every 6 minutes to do a quick set of ten, to people who don't clean up weights (I'm pretty much an OCD style organization freak so that REALLY gets on my nerves). I can't get anything out of the training on this site but I keep coming back because it's amusing and you do seem real well intentioned. Keep your game up
-Aaron

admin said:

Aaron,

Yeah…I'm the same as you when it comes to picking up weights. I swear I put away a bunch of more weights than what I put on the bars. You know the guys who always leave a set of 45's on the bench. I do my sets..add weight, but when I leave that bar is empty. That way if someone wants to use the bar for something else, they can lift it off the bench.

My site isn't geared at all for football. I have a lot of respect for football players and I'm about as big of an NFL fan as you get…I live in Downtown Seattle about 5 minutes from Quest Field (where the Seahawks play). I made a post saying to not workout like an NFL player if you wanted to get slim and toned, etc. Well, that being said…if I was a football player I would workout completely differently than what I recommend on this site. I know where you are coming from.

Keep reading, because even though you are working to get big and add mass…I'll try to keep it entertaining. Plus you know you love the pictures of the ladies on my site more than the bodybuilding forums! I gotta get props for that…LOL!

Great Comment!

shane,

You made a good point by addressing the health issues. It simply isn't a healthy lifestyle to build your body to this degree.

I have followed a similar path as you. I feel so much better now that I've slimmed down and lightened up substantially. When I was much bigger I had a tough time hiking, playing sports, running, etc. Lugging around all that extra muscle slows you down.

Good choice on coming back from "the dark side"…LOL! I know what it is like to get caught up in the never ending quest for more muscle mass, it is tough to shake out of that.

Have a great one,

Thanks Rusty, and everyone else comments on Rustys comments. This made me laugh because im one of those scared off girls. I walk fast past the weighs area to the aerobics room and won’t go into the yoga room because I have to walk through the weights and boxing area. The heavy dudes are all lined up grunting and "waiting" between sets checking out the talent. Why don’t they just stay at home and make my life better. That noted even the yuckiest people have a right to work out. Why don’t they use the paper towels and sanitizer spray provided once they are finished?
We could just go on and on… To those who dont like, you must have seen some truth.

grunting a must. It has been proven over adn over that extreme loud yelling and grunts forces oxygen into and out of the lungs.
thus pupmping blood into and out of the muscular system, literally making you up to 10% stronger.

Dropping the weights, if your trying to grow you have to lift heavy; adn too failure, kinda a must also.

tank tops spandex well some things should be outlawed. actually spandex is good, but who cares. And tank tops you get less of a thermal btu heat index, thus less of a workout.

sweaty backs are a must depending, but come on man grab a towel before u leave.

iam not a freak but i am trying to get over my lil wimpy 215 lb self.
do i look down on people with other goals. No, there are lots of guys that are smaller but shredded , or chissled, or have great symatery, which i have found jsut because you have one you dont have the rest. and althought these are not my main golas, at this moment; i still admire these qualties and ask about tech ect on obtaining this look when the time is right.

iam covered in tattoos and make the gym look like a jail yard,
i think someone would actually want to thank me…..
i mean exactly if your going to try to break new barries you have got to get mean get into the feel, being athletic is a survial trate we have from being both preadtors; and prey. Both that require a not angry hostile but mean state of mind "so to speak".

As for as purposefully trying to intimade someone, ive seen people in the gym like this. It just goes with the turf, you have high test lots of red meat; and i mean in the middle of a pump someone is going to behave in a way they might not in another situation.
it is funny to watch someone out class them come in right after wards . and they still try to stay up or out do the other guy; trying to maintain that brute attitude; and a guy who could care less, blows them away without trying.

Thanks for bringing up how intimidating it is for women to actually enter the free weights area of a gym. I am a mid-20s female and I've had my fair share of feeling like an outsider using the free weights.

My experience so far has been mostly positive…There have been a few occasions though when I'm feeling really good about myself and having a great day lifting weights when out of nowhere some guy, who is usually about 20 years older than me, approaches me and lets me know how he thinks I could be doing the exercises better. (I am tempted to say that the age of those guys doesn't matter but I have yet to be approached by someone my age…) If I don't ask for help, please don't offer "advice" to me. It can be totally deflating and yes – embarrassing for us!! I have worked out with several guy friends over the years and still use the techniques they taught me and it's worked well.

While it might be more of a tactic for picking up on chicks in the gym, it's just another reason some women are so uncomfortable using free weights. It goes without saying that it's a male dominant environment but that doesn't mean we're not serious about getting a good workout in too.

It's true, not every body builder is the same, but the majority of the time, it's quite easy to find (or should I say HEAR lol) this type. Once, I accidently made eye contact in the gym mirror with a big, angry, grunting man, and the experience could be compared to that of an unexpected encounter with a Silverback Gorilla! He was glaring at me and continued to do so until I looked away (yikes)! Come to think of it though, perhaps he was just catching a reflective glare off his fluorescent yellow "LIFT, SPOT, OR GET OUT OF THE WAY" tank top…

I was trying my best to ignore it all and do my own thing, but you know, after seeing this week after week and month after month, it really grinds down on the patience levels. So thats when I really had a struggle internally to quit the Y or keep trying to ignore the attitudes. And I tell you, I have only a couple more weeks left to my membership and Im already feeling so much better that it will be over soon! I have my new schedule all set up and have had enough classes at the Y that I feel confident enough to get some good sessions in on my own. I will miss the few friends I had there, but it will be a comfort to know I wont see the attitudes too. An example of how building your muscils to build huge muscils is bad is when bobuybuilders overwork ther lats, boudybuilders seem to like massive lats and traps anyways if you overwork your lats my karate sensi pointed out that you move your whole body forward to punch.

A good example of this is brock leasners fight with randy coutur, randy had the leaner lats and he could throw full punches however notic how leasnar likes to mainly throw jabs anyways there was a point in the first round when leasner punched and his whole body moved forward and turned.

Now that school is getting out, you got these high schoolers and college kids clogging up the gym. On Wednesday these college guy took up the only squat rack in the gym for 50 minutes! And they werent even using it the entire time. They were off doing bench or something else. But they had all their crap there. Sandals, towels, wrist straps, etc. VERY ANNOYING

And love the guys who do their workouts right in front of the dumbells and then when you try to squeeze past them to either rack some weights or grab some, they look at you like YOUR the inconsiderate one.

Oh and not re-racking weights when they are done. Are we supposed to read your mind to figure out when you are done with a machine? F'N rack your damn weights when you are done.

I think a lot of it has to do with age. When I was 18 I was one of those idiots that would not grunt, but yell when I was bench pressing a whopping 185 pounds. I always racked my weight, but would drop dumbells on the floor, wear tight shirts and I hardly ever worked my legs. Funny how we change.
I'm now 33 years old, I rarely make a sound when lifting (except for an occasional grunt on the last rep of a heavy set), I never drop my weights, I wear baggy clothes, and the last thing I would ever do is neglect my leg training, nothing looks more ridiculous than a big upper body with chicken legs, and I should note that I even have naturally big calves so if anyone could get away with not working legs it would be me. Of course there are some who never change, but keep in mind that big egos and small brains comes with the territory. A lot of morons gravitate toward weightlifting, it's just the way it's always been.

i am new to this site… very interesting.. i consider myself a bodybuilder but my goals have always been to obtain the look of the classic bodybuilders from the 50s and 60s… people like steeve reeves, reg park, clancy ross, vince gironda… as opposed to dorian yates or ronnie coleman.. the thing i respect about the older bodybuilders was that they lived the lifestyle but wern't totaly consumed by it.. THEY HAD LIVES OUTSIDE OF THE GYM!! what a neat concept!! it wasn't a freak show like it is today either.. they also had physiques which were pleasing to the eye, unlike many of the pros these days…. plus many of them were able to look good in regular clothes… what is your take on these guys and this era of bodybuilding??

anyway.. i respect what you have to say.. i may not agree with everything on this site, but i do find most of it very informative, and there are some posts that i've read that i thought were thought provoking… i look forward to reading more posts

take care

lol Rusty, no worries about getting your butt kicked dude, just backpedal away and watch them huff and puff to try to catch you…. if they're the type you're talking about they're probably too muscle bound to hit people anyway.

Whew, dude, "Serious Lifter". I think you may be one of the people he's referring to. Just a thought.
I'm an amatuer bodybuilder/trainer and I can't stand most of the "serious lifters" at my gym…screaming, grunting, yelling, bang-clanging weights with the "alpha-male" attitudes. I dunno, it just seems kinda gay to me. Its great to be serious about any workout plan or goals but why act retarded if you don't have to?

LOL! Glad I found your blog Rusty. Been reading some of your articles, but I had to leave a comment on this hilarious post. And it's so true. I gym regularly now, and I've seen this behavior all over. Great blog man!

Ha brilliant, enjoyed the article, and the back and forth. I respect both sides of the argument, since I have friends that do both. I myself am somewhere in the middle, though I lean towards being leaner…no pun intended. I train for MMA so I aim to bulk up a bit, but mainly to improve muscle strength, power conditioning, etc.

I think the other stereotype can easily be made about the young pretty boys who spend 30 minutes doing their hair and outfit before coming to the gym, and spend more time talking with their friends and trying to pose with the little muscle they have while doing it. Of course, they like to dominate one bench or machine while they do so, switching back and forth taking 10 minutes to do an exercise that, even done slower than normal, should realistically only take 3-5 for all the sets. They bug me almost more than the obnoxious bodybuilder type.
And I hope this doesn't sound racist, but a big portion of these 'pretty' boys seem to be of Asian descent. They come in as a group, wearing night life clothes, or full matching track suits. Usually impractical, unbreathable things that are just meant to be flashy. Some even wear their sunglasses there…
I understand the group thing since I might feel out of place in another culture too, but still, the outfits are just seem ridiculous to me! Anyway, I know this article was written last year and all, but I just felt I had to comment.

You know, I always read about these kinds of people but i never went to a gym and saw them. i usually try to workout at home or outside. but i decided that i would go get a membership so i could build some muscle mass(keyword *some*) a little quicker than with body weight excercises. and when i first went i almost got the crap beat out of me because i saw one of those guys there and just started laughing because each one of these things was spot on. needless to say…he got very angry my senseless sarcasm probably didnt help too much either XD but very funny stuff
