Jonneh,

Yeah...I just try to "lighten it up" whenever possible. Thanks!

G,

Yeah...most people get obsessed with training and diet and then drop out. You have to be balanced if you want to do this long term. Great that you lost all that weight!

To be honest, only the first half of the first lap was an actual sprint. I was wiped afterwards. The same day I also did 2 weight training sessions. the next morning I woke up *noticeable* leaner. I've since gained a bit fat. Kind of a 2 steps forward, one step back thing.

It reminds me that I have to push hard almost every day for a top notch physique..

Here is the avatar I chose:

It is ridiculously funny :)

Hi Rusty,

another great post. Many years ago i was 40kg overweight and very unhappy. However i now look back at that stage of my life and think it was a blessing in disguise. You see, in my desperation to change the way i looked and felt i went serching for answers. That was when my love for fitness and nutrition began.Yes i lost the 40kg, but the most important thing to happen for me was that at first i wanted to look better primarily, but it turned out that the feeling of being healthier and fitter became more important.I almost become an evangelist with healthy food and exercise, and soon realised there is so much more too it.I now enjoy life so much more without being so strict on the food and continue to improve all aspects of my fitness.
Beer......always have loved it......Pizza.....yum especially the wood fired oven gourmet Italian style.......you get my drift.
I can still enjoy all these pleasures in life especially because i now practise undereating all day and then eat whatever i like at night(with some moderation).
Anyway sorry to go on.........

Ciao for now,
G.

Yavor,

You have to love that movie. I live in an area downtown that is surrounded by Zoolander type guys. I try to be WAY more down to earth. Life is too short to take yourself that seriously!

Very cool about throwing in the tough interval work. You must have been dying after doing 4 sets of one lap around the track! That has to jack up the metabolism quite a bit!

Funny thing you should mention Zoolander, Rusty. I saw it just the other night. In fact, I put him as an avatar on a discussion forum I take part in:)

p.s. your site inspired me to train harder. In the last couple of days I did 3-4 1 min intervals of jumrope as well as 4x400m "sprints" at the track.
