There is NO EVIDENCE in the scientific literature that dieting and exercising have much impact at all on our body weight in the LONG TERM.

Dr. Jeffrey Friedman , perhaps the foremost authority on obesity in the world, has said so.

Obesity is very poorly understood. Bruce Lee looked the way he did mostly due to his GENETICS.

I know this thread is old, but I wanted to comment on The Biggest Loser. (Ironically) I've caught quite a few recent episodes at my gym where they had 70-526 the largest contestant they have had to date, (who actually won). While I'm in the gym watching these people on that show kill themselves working out, it baffles my mind as to why they 70-528 chose such a method. I'm a big follower of Warrior as well as Eat Stop Eat and a huge fan of Lyle's RFL. Isn't diet 99.9% of the problem? Couldn't they loose just as much or even more weight by simply doing Eat Stop eat or Lyles RFL program? with moderate 70-529 exercise? I also noticed , that most if not all haven't been able to keep it off 70-536.

Rusty,
I'm not sure exactly what you meant when you said Bruce Lee was ripped without trying. If you meant he didn't have to work that hard to achieve the look he did then you are dead wrong. Lee worked out harder than almost anyone ever. He would work out for at least a couple hours each day in addition to the hours of martial arts training he did. That man lived to work out and every single muscle in his body was functional. If you meant something else then never mind.

There is no next Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee changed the world. I don't think Tony Jaa can do that, but I do think Tony Jaa is going to be the next great action star. That being said, he needs a real good break out movie. Ong Bak 1 was good, but then his next 2 movies kinda sucked.

Rusty,

Yeah, noticed a couple of your posts on Pavel, interesting stuff.

From my experience isometrics is a big one (you should do something on this mate), namely the horse stance. Back when my grandmaster was very young his master made him stand in the horse stance for (eventually) hours every day, for 6 months before teaching him anything else, it was the same in the shaolin temple before communist China turned it into a tourist attraction.
This exercise is something special, works your core aswell but mainly legs like you wouldn't believe. You wont get bigger, but you'll get strong beyond what you thought possible. Your balance will be unmatched.

Agree with Daniel above, infact Tony Jaa does alot of gymnastics for his training. Bruce Lee is still number one.

He's a good showman, no doubt about that. But he is nothing comparing to Bruce Lee. Put Tony in the UFC and he will get his ass kicked. He's just another clown actor like Jackie Chan, Jean Claude Van Dam and Steven Seagal. Bruce at least is real.

I really do want to get that toned Hollywood look but, I'm worried that right now, it wouldn't look so good since I'm 135lbs/5'7/15%bf. and I don't want to get too thin. Is it better to gain some mass first or start toning now?
