I am an 80's kid, so obviously I'm a fan of Robert Downey Jr. If you grew up in the 80's you couldn't help, but like the guy. He played cocky and edgy roles in teen movies for the greater part of a decade. Unfortunately drugs got the best of him for a while, but now he is kicking butt again. His performance as Tony Stark in "Iron Man" is simply brilliant!
[Robert Downey Jr makes this movie. He is super cocky and cool, NOT modest like other super heroes. I was blown away by how clever this movie was put together. You guys have to see this!]
Most of you have probably heard of the movie 300 by now. It seems as if everyone is jumping on the bandwagon of this movie by coming up with training routines to get a body like guys from the 300 Movie. Want to meet the original Spartan Trainer, Anthony Bova?
[ The Spartan cardio routine…"The Stairs of Hercules"! This is a brutal video…Anthony makes his little brother carry a 150 pound sandbag up and down 8 flights of stairs for 20 minutes straight]
Are you guys familiar with the TV show The Biggest Loser? The idea is that they take two teams of overweight people and have a weight loss contest. The members of each team weigh in at the beginning of the week and weigh in at the end of the week. The team that has lost the most total weight at the end of the week are declared the winners. The Biggest Loser tv show is entertaining, but is very unrealistic for people with a life. Let me explain…
[Jillian Michaels is a trainer who stays in great shape. Don't let her sexy feminine physique fool you…she is pretty tough on the show!]
Patrick Swayze is one of those guys who doesn't seem to age. He has been in outstanding shape for his entire movie career, which spans close to 30 years. He is a Hollywood icon and has been in some great movies. I was saddened to hear this week, that he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I felt absolutely compelled to do a post on Patrick Swayze, because he has certainly touched a lot of our lives. Here are some outstanding clips of him over the years.
[Road House could be one of the best "cult classics" of all time. It is so bad it is good. This is my favorite scene by far. This is a "must see" movie in my opinion.]
I was reading a post on a bodybuilding forum today where a bunch of guys were ripping on The Rock (Duane Johnson) for slimming down. They said he looks like a wimp now and that his legs are too small compared to his upper body, etc. This shows you how clueless and out of touch the bodybuilding forums are getting. The funny thing is that The Rock is still much more physically impressive at a lighter weight than most of these pudgy guys.
[The Rock is an example of a "naturally big guy" who has slimmed down. He is slim and toned in respect to his larger frame. He is the ideal role model for the bigger guys out there.]
A new branch of LA Fitness opened in my area about a month ago. Today, I decided to give it a shot. This gym is outstanding! The equipment is top-notch. The gym is filled with friendly people. All of the members put their weights away, etc. My only gripe? Almost every single personal trainer working there is not in very good shape.
[An example of a woman in outstanding shape. If pictures speak louder than words…this one screams!]
The Silver Surfer was robbed by Matt Damon. Yeah, Matt was voted by People Magazine as the sexiest man alive for 2007, but it should have gone to the Silver Surfer! Just because he wanted to destroy the planet does not mean that he should have been overlooked.
[This is a family site, so I just wanted to give you a picture from the waist up.]
In my opinion, Hollywood actors and celebrities can teach us a bunch about what women find attractive in men. Make no mistake about it, most of these guys are extremely good looking…but we can learn some tips from these guys if we observe them. So let the observations begin!
[Here is a Matt Damon Impersonating Matthew Mcconaughey]
Time to take a break from "sets and reps". If I do nothing but talk about technical stuff, I am going to bore you senseless. I make posts all the time about being physically attractive, let's talk about other pieces of the attraction puzzle. [Click Here to Continue Reading…]
An article on Tony Jaa…Muay Thai fighter and new martial arts action star? Sorry guys I know this seems a little off topic, but it will make sense in a second. I am a big fan of implementing martial arts strategies into generating power and maximizing tension. The article I was planning to write tonight was going to be called "Gain Strength and Muscle Definition With Light Weights by Emphasizing Tension". This is a method of getting the density, strength and muscle tone benefits of heavy weights, while lifting light (it is a technical article and you will get a lot out of it). I'll write that article within the next 2-3 days…I promise! I got side-tracked a bit on Youtube…it happens!
Here's Tony Jaa practicing moves for the movie Ong-Bak. No special effects here…
[I wouldn't want to be an extra in this film!]
Why I'm Talking About Tony Jaa?
Tony Jaa is a ridiculously athletic Muay Thai fighter that does the most impressive physical feats that I have ever seen. Think of a cross between Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and an Olympic gymnast.
I am a HUGE James Bond fan. I think James Bond personifies what women find sexy in a man…because of this, he is somewhat of a role model. I think women like James Bond because he is attractive, can look great in clothes, is a bit of a mystery, and is witty. He also has a great "look" as far as physiques go. He has the lean "Special Operations" build, not an overly muscular look. This movie is still a ways away, but I wanted to do a bit of research to give out early info.
Rumor Has it that Mayrin Villanueva is the New Bond Girl
[She is pictured here doing "Lingerie Wall Squats"…"Okay Mayrin…time to hit the showers!…I will analyze your form!"]
